Week 7 Answers for YB A to Z - See ya on the 19th.

1.     Oak Ridge Boys: The Songs are all sung by “Men” groups (Baha Men, Men without Hats, Men at Work), except Elvira by The Oak Ridge BOYS.
2.     Instrument: Each song title features a musical INSTRUMENT: All about That Bass, Trumpet, Yakety Sax, Mandolin Rain, Hell’s Bells.
3.     Song: Each is a “Song” Song: Movin’ Out (Anthony’s Song), 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin’ Groovy), Open Window (The Wedding Song), New Song, Monorail Song, Thong Song
4.     Hook: These are actors, all grown up, from the 1991 classic film Hook.
5.     X Ring: There are many stories about the St. Francis Xavier University Ring (X Ring) being among the 4 most recognized rings in the world after A. The Papal Ring, B. The Superbowl Ring and C. The One Ring.
6.     Electric Mayhem: As in, the Muppet band Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem. Pictured are Floyd (Patterson), Zoot (Suit), Animal (George Steele) and Janice (Fitzgerald)
7.     Dance: Each word ends with a type of dance: twerk, swing, hula, hop, jig, tap and reel. Had fun with that one!
8.     Pizza Place: the show was called Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place, which after season two was changed to Two Guys and a Girl.
9.     Reynolds (Ryan Rodney): The “Two Guys” from the title are Ryan Rodney Reynolds (star) and Richard Robert Ruccolo (who?). What are the chances?
10.  Valerie: The 80s sitcom starred Valerie Harper. After 2 years, she was fired, but they changed the show to Valerie’s Family, and by season 4 it was clear she was not coming back, and changed the show to The Hogan Family. One of the Young Hogans was Jason Bateman of Arrested Development and Ozark (he’s no Ryan Reynolds, but hey).
11.  Golden: Pictured: the Golden Boy, the Golden Jet, the Golden Brett, el Pibe de Oro, the Golden Bear, il Bimbo d'Oro, Golden Arm)
12.  Bigfoot: All these things and more share the Bigfoot refence. Also, a recent Progressive Insurance ad had an interview with Bigfoot and his name is Darryl.
13.  Mandela Effect: The phenomenon cites things that may have happened differently in freaky parallel universes and shit (Monopoly guy (Pennybags) with a monocle, Curious George with a tail, Tom Cruise wearing shades in Risky Business song, Vader never said “Luke, I am your father”, etc. – none of those things really happened.)
14.  Latinos: TIN inside of LAOS = Latinos
15.  Coop (Co-op): A coop is a home for chickens. A co-op is a home for urbanites.
16.  Tasmania: We love the dozens and dozens of parallels between Tasmania and Newfoundland. Wonder what would happen if the Newfoundland Dog mated with the Tasmanian Devil.
17.  Queensland: Much like the parallels between Tasmania and Newfoundland, BC and Queensland share a lot.
18.  Krakowski (Jane): Everyone else shares a name with another famous person: Jane Seymour, Anne Hathaway, Brian Wilson, Randy Jackson, Dave Thomas, and Steve McQueen.
19.  Zoboomafoo. That’s a Kinkajou, btw.
20.  Wrestling: They all ‘starred’ in a pro wrestling event as a performer, announcer or referee.
21.  Uhura (Nyota): Obama had a massive crush.
22.  New-Wes-Valley: Newtown, Wesleyville, and Valleyfield (+5 more – shout out, Badger’s Quay) merged to New-Wes-Valley. Had CBS done the same, it may have taken Topsail, Foxtrap and Chamberlains and turned it into Top-Fox-Chamber
23.  Yabba-Dabba-Doo. From the Flintstones. That’s 2 weeks in a row with a Flintstones Question. Next week, watch out for Mr. Slate.
24.  Juanita: Some lot of Juanitas in Newfoundland, wha’? But neither Juan to be seen. CBC did a story on it recently. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/newfoundland-labrador/juanita-name-history-1.5217741
25.  Fitzgerald (Francis Scott Key): The lyricist who wrote The Star Spangled Banner was Francis Scott Key, and the author’s full name is F(rancis) Scott Key Fitzgerald.
26.  Annie: The film that was loved and hated and loved and hated (and the recent remake pretty much hated).
